What is Hogmanay? It is the Scots word for New Years Eve and all the celebrations that go with it! Linked with Hogmanay is the song Auld Lang Syne and several curious old traditions including 'first footing'. The Scottish celebrate Hogmanay with street parties and fireworks - the most famous being in the centre of Edinburgh, the capital city of Scotland.
