I've been attending classes in pilates since 2007. I'm tall (around 185 cm), so I wanted to improve my posture and balance. However, it was only recently when I strained my back that I really appreciated how pilates could help me, as 'zipping and hollowing', like my pilates teacher instructed to protect the lower back, allowed me to stand up and move around without discomfort!
