Soong Ching-ling was a classic Chinese beauty with a mind like a steel trap! She was educated in the USA, at Wesleyan College, and went on to marry Dr Sun Yat Sen (the revolutionary who led the fight to bring down the Qing dynasty) in Japan on 25 October 1915. Soong Ching-ling was a revolutionary patriot of China that had contact and outreach to a global audience. She had inner strength, dedication to her cause, compassion to the underprivileged and was extremely brave in the face of physical danger. From her youth until old age, she fought for the right and duty of women to be treated as equals in contributing to the advance of her nation. She can be truly regarded as the 'Mother of China'.
