Hitchhiker's Guide is loved by sci-fi geeks worldwide because it is so infuriatingly well-written and hilarious. The plot changes course depending on which format of the story you take in: Book, radio, TV, movie. Familiar quotes and scenes are used throughout, but the sequence of events change between each type. If you've not yet tried it, I implore you to give it a go. Douglas Adams is an amazing writer - and, if you want to see for yourself, you could hardly do worse than to read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy as your introduction to his works.
